One of the key areas of our work is the development of women’s leadership and the Roma civil movement. Today, women-led organizations play a crucial role in supporting their communities by creating new opportunities for growth, education, and integration.

Thanks to financial support from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), we were able to provide grants for five initiatives focused on strengthening communities and empowering Roma women.

Meet the projects that received our support:

✔️ Transcarpathian Regional Charitable Foundation “Blago”

Their project aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the organization by improving internal policies, ensuring transparency in the foundation’s work, and developing a strategic communication plan. The initiative also includes renting a shelter to host training sessions and provide temporary accommodation in crisis situations.

✔️ Rom Art NGO

An art project for Roma children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and local youth, set to run for three months. Participants will attend art classes, create their own works, and showcase them at a final exhibition — promoting social integration and intercultural dialogue.

✔️ Carpathian Human Rights Agency “VESTED” in partnership with the Roma youth organization “Luludya”

An educational project aimed at increasing Roma children’s motivation to study through mentorship, training sessions, and awareness-raising activities. The project also includes the development of proposals for the Action Plan to implement the Roma Strategy in Zakarpattia region.

✔️ Transcarpathian Regional Roma Cultural and Educational Society “Roma”

Their initiative aims to improve access to education for children and illiterate women in the village of Chomonyn, Zakarpattia. The project includes the purchase of school supplies and the organization of classes in reading, mathematics, drawing, as well as lessons on Roma culture.

✔️ Bakhtale Terne NGO

This project will help strengthen the organization by developing skills in fundraising and project management. It also includes entrepreneurship courses for Roma women in Pereiaslav, Kyiv region.

We believe these initiatives will not only improve conditions for Roma women and children but also contribute to building strong and united communities.
