Alyona Hrom, Project Manager at Voice of Romni, took part in the annual General Assembly of the Humanitarian NGO Platform in Ukraine.

Recently, our organization joined this independent coordination body, which brings together more than 100 Ukrainian and international NGOs.

The Platform supports effective and impactful responses to people’s humanitarian needs through advocacy, coordination, information sharing, representation, and engagement with external stakeholders.

The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the outcomes of 2025 and planning for the year ahead. During the first part of the session, participants discussed the Platform’s key achievements over the past year, shared experiences of cooperation among member organizations, and analyzed how this collaboration aligned with previously defined goals and expectations. The second part focused on strategic issues: participants worked on shaping the vision for the Platform’s operations in 2026, identified priority areas, and developed shared expectations regarding coordination and external representation. All matters were discussed openly and approved through joint voting. At the end of the meeting, representatives of non-governmental organizations elected a new Steering Committee of the Platform for 2026.

For Voice of Romni, participation in such meetings is an opportunity to be part of a collective humanitarian dialogue, to influence priority-setting in the field of humanitarian response, and to amplify our experience of working with vulnerable communities that are often overlooked. We continue to ensure that the voices of Roma women are heard and taken into account in decision-making processes.
