Voice of Romni and the Department of Urban Infrastructure of the Uzhhorod City Council Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership
Voice of Romni is strengthening dialogue with the municipal authorities of Uzhhorod. On 9 February, the document was signed by the President of our organization, Anzhelika Bielova, and the Director of the Department of Urban Infrastructure, Daniella Hevorkyan.

For us, this is an important step toward building a productive partnership aimed at supporting vulnerable groups living in Uzhhorod. Our organization has been operating here since 2022. During this time, we have already provided assistance to nearly 9,000 people residing in or seeking shelter in Zakarpattia region.
We have become a space for support, development, and mutual assistance. More than five hundred individuals have benefited from free educational, psychological, speech therapy, and legal services delivered through our child and youth spaces operating at our main office in Uzhhorod.
A separate focus of our work is strengthening the economic resilience of Roma and other vulnerable women. In Zakarpattia, 253 women have completed our free retraining programmes and acquired new professional skills, opening pathways to stable income and self-realization.
The Memorandum signed with the structural unit of the Uzhhorod City Council outlines key areas of cooperation:
- development of inclusion and improvement of the socio-economic situation of the Roma community;
- empowerment of the Roma national minority and combating discrimination;
- increasing visibility and awareness of the challenges faced by the community;
- implementation of joint projects and initiatives;
- mobilization of resources and investment for sustainable development.
An important component of the partnership is support for social initiatives. In cooperation with our German partners SODI, our team is implementing a new project that foresees the establishment of a social cleaning enterprise in Uzhhorod. This initiative will create new jobs, ensure formal employment, and provide career growth opportunities for Roma women and women from other vulnerable groups.
The signed Memorandum confirms the openness of both parties to dialogue, support for civic initiatives, and joint efforts to improve the quality of life of the Roma community in Uzhhorod.
