It means so much to us that our efforts are seen and valued.

We work extensively in education and culture, creating opportunities for the Roma community, internally displaced persons, and other people from vulnerable groups. Our projects aim to support families comprehensively and provide them with long-term assistance.

We recently received recognition as part of the nationwide “Charitable Ukraine” competition, which has brought together philanthropists, volunteers, civil society organizations, and everyone working for people’s wellbeing, for many years now. Voice of Romni took first place in the 7th regional “Charitable Zaporizhzhia – 2025” competition, in the category “Philanthropy in Education and Culture.”

This year, philanthropists from Zaporizhzhia region submitted 148 applications to the competition. The National Expert Council selected 34 laureates across nine competition categories. (Full list: https://blagoukraine.org/news/peremozhtsi-zaporizhzhya-2025-4810.html)

It’s a great honor for us to be among those whose work was recognized at this level.

Receiving this award in Zaporizhzhia carries special meaning. This is where Voice of Romni’s story began six years ago. This is where our organization took its first steps, carried out its first projects, and provided its first support to people.

In his address to participants, the head of the competition’s organizing committee and president of the Association of Philanthropists of Ukraine, Oleksandr Maksymchuk, said:

“Every single one of you matters to Ukraine. Every single one of you is doing extraordinary work. I know that so many people working in volunteering and philanthropy are running low on resources. But we support each other, we energize each other. That’s exactly what this competition is for, and what it’s about.”

For first place in our category, our team was awarded a diploma and the “Angel of Kindness” statuette. For us, this recognition is another reminder of how much our work means to the people we support.

We are sincerely grateful to the Association of Philanthropists of Ukraine and the Caritas Zaporizhzhia charitable foundation, who organized the competition. Our team is honored to be part of a community of philanthropists working every day toward a better future for our country.
