In-person meetings are an invaluable tool for fostering collaboration, especially when it comes to institutional support for civil society organizations.

Recently, we had the honor of welcoming our partners from Oxfam to our Uzhhorod office — an organization that consistently supports initiatives aimed at strengthening civil society.

During the meeting, Voice of Romni President Anzhelika Bielova presented the results of our research on gender-based violence (GBV) and gender practices in Roma communities, as well as the needs of Roma men and women during the war in Ukraine. We also shared our organization’s strategic goals for the next two years and discussed potential support from Oxfam for their implementation.

One of the key topics discussed was the institutional strengthening of Voice of Romni as an organization that advocates for the rights of Roma women and promotes their leadership. Our partners from Oxfam reaffirmed their commitment to supporting us in this process, helping to expand our activities, and implementing important projects.

We are grateful for the trust, attention to the needs of the Roma community, and the willingness to continue working together to ensure that the voices of Roma women are heard loudly at the local, national, and international levels.
