Speech by the President of “Voice of Romni” at the Commission on the Status of Women in New York
Representing the Roma community of Ukraine at such a high level is an honor for us.
Every day, our team works tirelessly to ensure that the protection of the rights of Roma women and men becomes a subject of discussion at all levels of decision-making.
President of “Voice of Romni,” Anzhelika Bielova, delivered a speech at the annual Commission on the Status of Women in New York, held at the UN Headquarters. She reminded the international community that the Roma community in Ukraine is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis caused by the war and shared their approach of enhancing humanitarian aid through economic empowerment.
This principle — to support not only in the moment, but also in the long term — is at the core of the “Voice of Romni” team’s mission.

“I believe that young women and men leaders can build constructive, high-quality, and well-founded dialogue with decision-makers, donors, and the public,” Anzhelika concluded. “I believe in the important and positive role of young people — especially young women — in conflict prevention and resolution, in combating violence, and in post-war recovery.”
