Roma women and women from other vulnerable groups have completed Business Ukrainian language courses
The ability to express oneself clearly and correctly builds confidence. An everyday conversation or a business meeting with unfamiliar people becomes easier when you know how to formulate your thoughts properly, write a formal request or application, or prepare a CV. Many challenges become much easier to overcome.
Over the course of six weeks in Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, Roma women and women from other vulnerable groups attended Business Ukrainian language courses organized by Voice of Romni with the support of CARE Ukraine. The training helped participants navigate formal communication more effectively and feel more confident when interacting with employers, as well as representatives of various institutions and services.
The course combined theory with extensive practice. Participants explored the features of formal business style and learned how to draft applications, autobiographies, CVs, and receipts, as well as what to pay attention to when preparing such documents. Special attention was also given to the culture of business communication, language etiquette, and the appropriateness of wording in different situations.
The course included 12 sessions, each lasting 50 minutes. Participants gained theoretical knowledge and then reinforced it through practical exercises of varying types and levels of difficulty. We delivered the training in an atmosphere of safety and trust, where every participant felt comfortable, could ask questions, receive support, and present the results of her work, said teacher Olena Kruhliak.

We are confident that these skills will prove valuable many times in real-life situations, because learning opens up new opportunities. Women gain a better understanding of their rights, can prepare documents independently, and communicate more confidently in formal settings. We are glad when the voices of Roma women are heard clearly and confidently.
