As part of our partnership with CARE.Ukraine, the Voice of Romni team continues consistent efforts aimed at preparing Roma women who want to help their communities and drive change.

In early October, we gathered the project participants for another project management training in the Kirovohrad region. Our goal was to equip them with practical skills and knowledge necessary for effective project design, management, and advocacy.

Over three days, the participants learned how to work with project ideas, from defining a goal to preparing a full proposal, analyze stakeholders, build a “problem tree” and “objective tree,” formulate SMART goals, develop a logical framework matrix, and assess potential risks. We placed a special focus on gender aspects, how to consider the needs of women from different groups and ensure equality in project approaches.

Our team always strives to create a space where every woman can learn regardless of her life circumstances. That’s why we provide conditions that allow even those with small children to take part in sessions. It was especially moving to see how the desire to learn and grow overcomes any challenges. We understand that our participants come not only to gain knowledge, but also to apply it in practice and create a better future for their children.

The women also practiced short project pitches, presentations of their ideas, and honed their skills in project defense. Thanks to this training, participants gained tools to independently develop high-quality proposals focused on the needs of their communities and to confidently present their initiatives to partners and donors.

We believe that such training sessions build the foundation for women’s leadership in Ukraine. They also bring together women who share similar values and visions, laying the groundwork for future partnerships. Voice of Romni continues to systematically support and strengthen Roma women’s leadership, as it is an investment in the sustainable development of communities and in amplifying their voice at all levels.
