The voices of Roma activists are growing louder, and their path is expanding! We are opening new opportunities and creating prospects for Roma women.

Today, on March 8, as the world marks International Women’s Rights and International Peace Day, the president of Voice of Romni, Anzhelika Bielova, together with her team and a group of Roma activists, is heading to the United States. Their mission is crucial: to advocate for the rights of our community, speak about just peace, and promote inclusive recovery in Ukraine.

This visit is the result of long-term and systematic work. A year ago, Anzhelika participated in the Commission on the Status of Women in New York and set a goal to bring more Roma voices to the international stage. Today, that goal has become a reality! This trip demonstrates the strength and determination of Roma women in their fight for equal rights for everyone.

For over two weeks, they will be advocating for the rights of Roma women, children, and other vulnerable groups, reminding the world that the needs of all must be included in Ukraine’s post-war recovery plans. We take pride in the fact that Voice of Romni empowers Roma activists, helping them grow and make an impact on the global discourse—because together, we are stronger!

The history of the Roma national community, like many others, is one of continuous struggle for equality and rights. We will keep fighting for equal opportunities for all and a world where every voice matters. Happy International Women’s Rights and International Peace Day!

Stay tuned for updates, and see you in New York!
