New Stories of Healing: Summer Camp for Vulnerable Families Begins in the Carpathians
We’re filled with anticipation and joy: for the third year in a row, the Voice of Romni team is hosting a family camp in the Carpathians.
The first group of participants has already arrived with their children — to a picturesque, peaceful corner among the mountains. These are families who are going through difficult times but continue to seek light and support to keep believing in a better future. Among them are Roma families, internally displaced persons, large families, and others who have shared their stories with us and urgently need support. Unfortunately, due to the limited number of places, we couldn’t accommodate everyone, but we’ve carefully reviewed every application and carried each story in our hearts.
The Voice of Romni team has spent months preparing and thoughtfully planning every detail — and now we begin writing new stories of healing. This is more than just a camp. We want this week to become a space of trust, warmth, and joy. For many of the women here, life has felt like a never-ending battle — with anxiety, loss, sleepless nights, and constant fear for their children and themselves. And yet, they carry incredible strength. We believe these women deserve at least one week in which someone takes care of them, just as they care for their children every day.

That’s what our camps are about — care, community, support, and the feeling that you are not alone. We want every woman to feel seen, to be able to relax, and to allow herself moments of joy and ease.
Our team has prepared a holistic program designed to help vulnerable families rest and recharge — physically and emotionally. From morning stretches to start the day with energy, to women’s circles where one can speak or simply sit in silence with others who understand, to individual sessions with a psychologist, group reflections, creative workshops, lectures, and physical activities — all created to help the body and soul begin to heal.
While the mothers rest and gather strength, their children dive into adventure: games, quests, crafts, and active fun every day. We want them to forget — even for just a week — the horrors of war and feel that joy and carefree childhood still have a place in their lives, free from the constant sound of sirens.
We already know there will be stories that move us to tears, moments of joy, and that special feeling when the world seems just a little bit brighter. So, send your warm wishes to our incredible participants — may this week be truly restorative for them!
