Simple items — toothpaste, laundry detergent, or shampoo — remain basic necessities for many Roma communities and other vulnerable groups.

At a time when life in Ukraine is shaped by the challenges of war, access to hygiene supplies for people living in frontline areas becomes part of a sense of safety, stability, and human dignity.

That is why we set ourselves an important goal: to support families in meeting their everyday needs and help provide the essentials without which it is impossible to manage daily life. Voice of Romni, together with Save the Children, delivered 180 hygiene kits to families from vulnerable groups in Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions. In total, 450 people — women, men, and children — received support. We are grateful to our partners for the opportunity to stand by people at the very moment when support is needed most.

Each kit was prepared with an understanding of families’ real everyday needs. It included shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, wipes, razors, deodorants, creams, laundry detergent, cleaning products, towels, and other essential items for the whole family.

Some of these families also received kits to help them prepare for possible blackouts — a reality that, in Ukraine, has long ceased to depend on the season and is instead shaped by the conditions of war. These kits included blankets, power banks, thermoses, hand warmers, and flashlights — items that help people get through power outages, cold homes, or long periods spent in shelters during shelling. In addition, families received firewood to heat their homes.

For us, it is important not only to respond to urgent needs here and now, but also to work proactively — providing comprehensive support to families and helping them face the challenges that war creates every day. Behind every delivery of assistance, there are human stories. Some people live under constant threat; others have been forced to leave their homes to save their loved ones. In such circumstances, even an ordinary hygiene kit can become a sign that people have not been left alone with their difficulties.

У час, коли в Україні життя визначається викликами війни, доступ до засобів гігієни для людей, які живуть на прифронтових територіях, стає частиною відчуття безпеки, стабільності та людської гідності. ✊🏽 Саме тому ми поставили перед собою важливу ціль – підтримати родини у їхніх щоденних потребах. «Голос Ромні» спільно із Save the Children (Врятуймо дітей) передали 180 гігієнічних наборів родинам із вразливих категорій у Запорізькій, Дніпропетровській та Харківській областях. Загалом підтримку отримали 450 людей: жінки, чоловіки та діти. Ми вдячні партнерам за можливість бути поруч саме тоді, коли підтримка найбільш потрібна. 📦 Кожен набір був сформований із розумінням реальних потреб родин. До нього увійшли шампуні, мило, зубні щітки та пасти, серветки, бритви, дезодоранти, креми, пральний порошок, мийні засоби, рушники та інші необхідні речі для сім’ї. Частина цих родин також отримала комплекти для підготовки до можливих блекаутів – реальності, яка в Україні вже давно не залежить від сезону, а визначається умовами війни. За кожною передачею допомоги – людські історії. Хтось живе в умовах постійної небезпеки, хтось був змушений залишити дім, рятуючи своїх близьких.
