Another group of women in Uzhhorod has completed a professional cleaning course run by Voice of Romni, with support from our partners at SODI.

Over the course of their training, the women mastered the theory, familiarized themselves with professional cleaning products and equipment, and practiced hands-on skills. As has become tradition, the course concluded with a social cleaning initiative — this time at the Faculty of Law of Uzhhorod National University.

The women worked as a team, learning to collaborate, divide responsibilities, and support one another.

“I’m so glad I learned this. The course is fantastic — and our teacher has such a wonderful energy about her! I’ll definitely put this to use: I’ll either work for myself or start my own company,” shares participant Tetiana.

The life stories of many of these women are often full of hardship, which is why we strive to create the most supportive possible environment for their growth.

“Our teacher explained everything from start to finish, showed us how it’s done, and introduced us to websites where we can buy all these cleaning products, along with the right way to do everything. Many thanks to everyone, and of course to the sponsors who made this possible — for people like us who’ve come from another city and are looking for extra income, or maybe even work of their own,” adds Liudmyla.

The course was led by cleaning industry instructor Anastasiia Kulakova. The participants spoke highly of her teaching, and she, in turn, praised their dedication:

“This is already the fourth group that the Kyiv School of Cleaning has graduated in Uzhhorod. It’s a potentially very strong group — in the near future, they’ll either launch their own small or large cleaning business, or start working in their new profession as skilled cleaning specialists.”

Mariia Mendzhul, professor of law at the UzhNU Faculty of Law, noted that the social cleaning event held particular significance for the institution:

“As part of the university, we’re running a social project focused on children’s health and recovery for kids from vulnerable backgrounds. So having the opportunity to clean the space where these children come to recover means a great deal to us.”

The Voice of Romni team is grateful to our partners at SODI, whose support allows us to keep training cleaning professionals. We are currently recruiting a new group in Uzhhorod — registration is open at the link below.
