Humanitarian Aid
One of the priorities of the Union of Roma Women Voice of Romni is to provide Roma communities in Ukraine with the necessary resources in times of war. Our main goal is to offer humanitarian support to the most vulnerable groups: women, children, and elderly people, who often face discrimination and social isolation.
According to the results of our research, humanitarian aid is one of the greatest needs of Roma communities during the war. After the full-scale invasion began, about 40% of Roma lost their jobs, leaving them unable to support their families. 66% of respondents have an urgent need for food and drinking water, while more than 70% need clothing and hygiene products.
At Voice of Romni, we continue to work on supporting Roma communities and doing everything we can to ensure their requests are heard. In 2023, 12,000 people received food packages, more than 2,500 received hygiene kits, and 15,689 individuals received financial aid. We also provided firewood, power banks, water filters, and warm blankets.
Every day, our team works to ensure that families in even the most remote and frontline regions receive help. Through cooperation with non-governmental organizations and international donors, we respond swiftly to the urgent needs of Roma communities.
