Polina’s story – a story of growth in every sense.

We have been watching her journey for many years, and we are sincerely delighted by every new step she takes. This is a story about the path that leads a Roma girl toward independence, resilience, and success.

Polina first encountered Voice of Romni when she was attending our children’s space in Zaporizhzhia. There, she learned, discovered new interests, made friends, and gradually grew more confident. Later, she joined our youth space, began taking part in trainings, showing initiative, and growing into a young Roma leader.

For us, this story is the best example of how comprehensive support works. When a child has a safe space to grow, when young people are given opportunities to learn, and when girls can gain a profession, develop leadership skills, and bring their own ideas to life — stories of success like this one emerge.

We are very proud of Polina and glad to stand by her on her path toward leadership and professional growth.

The next stage was professional training, which we delivered with support from CARE_Ukraine. Polina chose the beauty industry and completed courses in eyebrow styling and lash artistry. She also attended our classes in social media marketing (SMM) and business Ukrainian. Beyond professional skills, this helped her learn to confidently present herself and promote her services.

When we announced a new round of business grants, Polina didn’t hesitate — she got straight to work. She wrote her own project proposal and won the grant. This outcome didn’t come as a surprise to us, since Polina’s success is no accident. She works systematically and persistently, knows how to set priorities, and knows exactly what she wants.

Today, Polina works at Voice of Romni’s social beauty co-working space in Zaporizhzhia. She actively takes on clients, builds experience, and continues to grow professionally.
