Training for professional cleaners is ongoing in Uzhhorod, and our participants continue to actively put their new knowledge into practice. This time, they carried out a community cleaning activity at the local ‘Vidrodzhennia’ Church.

“There are certain things that only a professional cleaner can clean properly and to a high standard. The women are training in real field conditions and will be able to clean any type of premises,” says Anastasiia Kulakova, trainer of the cleaning course.

Such on-site visits are an important part of the training. Participants learn how to work with professional cleaning products, equipment, and different surfaces. They develop an eye for detail and learn how to organize the process properly. They also gain valuable teamwork experience.

“The knowledge we gain through this project gives us valuable experience. This is very important. Even in everyday life, at home, you already have these skills,” says Svitlana Yurieva, a training participant.

It is important for us that these courses provide women with real opportunities for employment and income. That is why they gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, including through community cleaning activities in public spaces. At the end of the course, participants receive official certificates from the Kyiv Cleaning School, which they can present to employers.

We are already pleased with the first results of the project, which we are implementing with the support of our German partners SODI, and we are happy to announce a new call for participants for the training course.

We once again invite women from vulnerable groups to join the training: Roma women, internally displaced women, mothers of many children, women from military families, and others who want to gain new professional skills, practical experience, and the opportunity to work in the cleaning sector and have a stable income.

After completing the training, two participants have already been officially employed. We will share their stories with you soon.
