Participants discussed the critical role women play in preserving Ukraine, its recovery, and building a just peace.

In her speech, Anzhelika Bielova, president of Voice of Romni, shared her experiences of substantial support from American society and highlighted the solidarity among Ukrainian women’s organizations internationally. She recalled that last year she was the sole Roma representative at the UN Commission, and this year she returned with a delegation to amplify the voices of Roma women and join other activists in advocating for a just peace in Ukraine.

During the event, she emphasized the importance of gender-responsive reconstruction: recovery plans must address the needs of all women, especially those belonging to vulnerable groups. She underscored that Roma people are an integral part of Ukrainian society, and therefore, the voices of Roma women must be equally heard when discussing the country’s future.

“Many women supported me on my path to leadership, and today I want to encourage each of us to support one another. This not only strengthens women’s leadership but also brings Ukraine closer to achieving a just peace,” concluded Anzhelika.

This year, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America celebrates its 100th anniversary. Founded in 1925, its original goal was to preserve Ukrainian identity, promote women’s active participation in social movements, and support their homeland. Today, these values remain vital, and their assistance to Ukraine is invaluable, especially during wartime.

We are grateful for your support and solidarity. Together we are stronger!
