For our team, it is extremely important and valuable when partners invite us into dialogue, show interest in our experience and expertise, and consider our recommendations for future cooperation.
Meetings like these open new opportunities for the development of local initiatives and help make support more effective.
During her recent visit to the United States, Anzhelika Bielova, President of Voice of Romni, spoke at a roundtable organized by the Clinton Global Initiative and the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). In New York, she was invited not just to present our work, but also to provide clear insights into how international partners can effectively support women’s NGOs in Ukraine within the humanitarian sector.
Anzhelika emphasized that the effectiveness of humanitarian response and Ukraine’s reconstruction depends on clearly allocated resources, support for local initiatives, and long-term funding.

Key recommendations highlighted by Anzhelika include:
- Accessible and long-term funding for local organizations, including multi-year support for organizational capacity building and coverage of indirect costs.
- Development of women’s NGOs that have gained unique experience working in crisis conditions in recent years, supported by resources to expand their growth and influence.
- Funding for local initiatives and investment in their development, enabling local organizations, who best understand community needs, to enhance their expertise.
- Inclusion of civil society organizations in Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts. Organizations assisting war-affected communities have developed comprehensive service systems and should participate in strategic decision-making regarding the country’s future and recovery.
- Balanced funding for humanitarian response and development programs aimed at improving the capacity of vulnerable communities, ensuring comprehensive support across regions to achieve long-term results.

These key aspects can make international aid even more effective for those who need it most. Therefore, when we are invited to meetings like these, we understand it is another opportunity to influence decisions that shape the future of support for Ukraine and the communities most affected by war. We continue working to positively impact people’s lives.
