Anzhelika Bielova Meets with Representatives of the Swedish Foundation Kvinna till Kvinna
Anzhelika Bielova, President of the Association of Roma Women Voice of Romni, has completed her working visit to Lviv.
Anzhelika Bielova took part in a meeting with representatives of the Swedish women’s rights foundation Kvinna till Kvinna. For more than 30 years, the foundation has supported women directly in areas affected by war and conflict. It works with more than 100 partner organizations in 20 countries around the world, defending women’s rights, promoting gender equality and justice, and contributing to lasting feminist peace.
The two-day meeting in Lviv brought together women human rights defenders, activists, and representatives of partner organizations. The agenda included rich discussions on global and local trends related to the situation of women human rights defenders, the Ukrainian context, and the challenges faced by women in media and activism during the war. Participants also discussed strategies for supporting Ukraine and the role of partner organizations in these processes.

Anzhelika Bielova spoke about the work of Voice of Romni during the war in Ukraine and shared the organization’s plans for 2026. Among the key priorities are expanding the network of Roma women’s organizations and initiative groups, providing them with training, strengthening their capacity, and sharing knowledge on gender equality. Voice of Romni is also working to attract resources for subgrants so that Roma women’s initiatives have more opportunities for development and direct cooperation with donors. Another important area of Voice of Romni’s work remains the implementation of the Roma Strategy. The organization brings together national and local authorities, international partners, and civil society organizations around this process — those who understand the realities of Roma communities, their needs, and the challenges they face. One of the key challenges and areas of work is also fundraising to support Voice of Romni’s comprehensive approach to assisting vulnerable groups.
During the meeting, Anzhelika discussed with representatives of Kvinna till Kvinna how the foundation can strengthen the work of Voice of Romni by providing international advocacy platforms, sharing information about the situation of women in Ukraine at the global level, and supporting international partnerships, networking, and the exchange of experience and expertise in the protection of women’s rights.
We are confident that cooperation with Kvinna till Kvinna will strengthen the voice of Roma women at a high level and open new opportunities for them.
